Would be very impressive on paper though. Reports say Lebron will lose 30 million signing with Miami vs Cleveland. Lot more partying going on in Miami too. That can take a mighty big toll on someone after a while.
they'll just do what Boston has been doing, getting older but still good Free agents to come in at a discount, reports say Iverson might be coming,Mike Miller and couple of others

Damien...if the big three you get remain uninjured (that's if you get LeBron)...you'll win championships.

But...pray that one of them doesn't get injured (like Wade's shoulder)...because the little left over money will go to scrubs or past prime players...and that ain't gonna work in long seven game playoff series.

I wish man, either way it's kind of a win win for us... if he signs with us then we'd be broke to sign anyone else but we'd have the King

if he doesn't then it gives us playing money to pick up a few missing role players

I'm thinking he is staying with Cleveland based on the prime time event.

If he stays, the hype will make him a hero to fans in Cleveland, fans of the NBA and sport in general, and to those who will parse this event for years to come.

To do all of this to say, "I'm leaving." will make him look like a wratch-bag for generations to come.

It's fine for him to leave for any destination. That's his right as a free agent. But, to have a televised live event to announce the decision....well, my guess is he is staying put because that is the only way he will not look like a jerk.

He's taking a 30 mill hair cut to go to Miami.

Yup. I think he'll leave, and get a big wakeup call when his house is torched. The police in his neighborhood and in downtown Cleveland are already on alert.

This whole thing reminds me of how I always felt when Barry Sanders had a chance to jump ship. The parallels are amazing. Barry got as close to playing for a championship as Lebron has, at this point in his career, but the money always kept him in Detroit. I think that shortened his career and I wished at the time he would have gone to a team that had a better shot at a championship.

BUT...Barry Sanders always, in any given situation, shunned the spotlight and I think this whole hype around Lebron (and I love him as a player) makes me feel a little dirty for being glued to the tube right now. I'm a willing participant because I have to know.
