This one looks a little different than Mego or Ledy or Basa. I'm not sure this would be a foreign Mego. It looks more like a Mego inspired knock-off, but I'm only looking at pics.

It's more of a knockoff for sure, but still much nicer than the Ledy Knockoffs. The outfit is the closest thing to Mego, BASA and Ledy. We wanted to include him because he's neat and goofy.

My apologies as I'm a newbie at the foreign Mego stuff.

No apologies! We are all learning, really. So many odd possibilities in this WorldMEGO game. :-)
If this was a legit figure produced by a toy company in Uruguay (so far the seller's word is all we have on that), then I would say that it would be similar to how MEGO worked with Ledy and BASA to produce figures (though there are differences due to licensing and import/export laws and what-not). But given the similarity to the DareDevil, it's also quite possible that this is a pretty spiffy knockoff line, and who knows its origins. Sounds like Palitoy has some eyesight recognition of this piece, and we can now start hunting with a broader net.

Wow, what an incredible find. And there are more figures to be found in this series, quite amazing.
No doubt the head is a reworked Daredevil sculpt. But it looks very cheaply made, same goes for the hands. Looks more like a knock-off than anything else.
But still, this is a very cool find. These are definitely the heighdays of foreign Mego, and about time too

My parents are from Uruguay, and I found myself going to Uruguay to visit family every 2 years from the time I was born til about 10 yrs ago.
Being a Superman collector, I've seen and bought plenty of Superman bootleg figures in Uruguay over the years, and one thing they all had in common... not made in Uruguay.
Most were from Argentina or Brazil.
I'd love to get my hands on a Superman boot actually MADE in my family's country. I'm going to shoot a pic of this doll to my cousin in Montevideo to see if he remembers seeing this growing up.
