Doc has a really great Flash head on his site.

I ordered one, and I think it would look great done in vinyl.

The old Mego line with the old Mego Buster Crabbe sculpt would be truly awesome. I still don't understand why Mego did NOT do it in 8" scale when they would have gone so well with the Startrek line if they were only the same height!

And that license is probably about as obtainable as the Phantom or Munsters line, etc.

Maybe, maybe not.

The license itself might be easy to get; the license to use Buster Crabbe's likeness might not.

They'd have to go through estate lawyers, whatever family is left, copyright laws, etc.

I like the Filmation version of Flash Gordon that was on TV oh so many years ago. I watched it every Saturday, and its probably more familiar to baby boomers like myself than Buster Crabbe's version, who was more from my mother's day.

I'd love some classic Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers.

Somebody get this done, OK....

There is a company doing Buster Crabbe as Flash, so its not impossible.

That would be cool with a Buster Crabbe sculpt.

Were the original Mego Flash Gordon line based on the Sam Jones movie of Flash Gordon?

No, they were released in 1976. As with the Robinhood, Ivanhoe, WOZ, and Little Rascals which were based on the silver screen likeness, Mego's 9" FG line strongly resemble their 1930's counterparts from the Crabbe serials. And I'm sure that was not by accident.

Thanks very much hobub.

It's nice that the Mego FG Line almost resembles them,as i am a fan of the old Buster Crabbe Flash Gordon serials.

Probaly not poplular, but I'd pass on FG. I'd much rather see the Bionic Man.

I'd like to see John Carter of Mars, myself.

THAT is one movie I would pay to see, if it's done correctly, by a competent director, people who KNOW how to actually ACT, and that it's not turned into one of the cheesy, sleazy sword, sorcery and sex romp that we had to deal with in the 1980's.
