    Well that's upsetting...

Got some Twilight Zone figures for Christmas. Pulled The Devil out and he immediately broke at the hip/leg. Not even 2 seconds out of the package.

I was hoping maybe it just popped off, but when I took off his clothes it was revealed that the hip connector broke. Is this a common problem? Seems as though I've heard this before.

Also the figure is stained to hell (pardon the pun) which is frustrating as well.

As these were gifts, I'm not sure what to do since I won't likely be able to return them.

that stinks. sorry to hear it. I would just get a new pin and restring him. the staining seems to be common to all the re-mego figures. not sure why

Re-Stringing new Doc bodies.... - Mego Talk

The TZ bodies are different than the ones discussed in this link. I've never had any problems with the bodies like the one shown above.

I pulled apart an older Doc body yesterday for another project and the hip pin was a little different. it was a little more sturdy and was possibly made out of a different material.
I'm a little confused. The plastic piece broke, not the metal hook. Is the plastic piece the "pin"? How would I get a new piece in there when the previous one looks as though it was made on?

no the pin just slides into the hole in the top of the leg and the metal hook connects to that. it is built the same way original mego T2 bodies were. you could check with Dr. Mego and see if there is any way to get replacement hip pins for the TZ figures, or if not i would use whatever color you can get since it would be covered by the outfit anyway

The hip pins break pretty easy. I've had two break on me.

I would get a new one by calling customer service

I need to do the same thing with my Dr. Girlfriend. As far as the rest of my BBP figures overall I've been pleased with their durability.

Or just buy a new one use that receipt and take back the broken one to the store. Get your money back or a store credit. The store gets reimbursed from the manufacturer.

Somebody needs to make wrist pins and thigh pins in bulk cheap for collectors.

Dr Mego & Co. fixed a couple of my new EMCE Gorilla apes no problem a few years back.
