MEGO WONDER WOMAN
I was going for Paradise Island here, but I think 8" Mego Wonder Woman ended up in a low rent version of MYST. Dig the gold headless Amazon goddesses. Pretty damn clever, eh? Yep! Nice clouds, too. Jet streamey! What? Oh. Sorry.
This is Wonder Woman. She was boots. Not all Mego Wonder Women came with boots, they are allegedly a mail-away only item, but show up more often than you'd think. They do make the figure, though. Otherwise, she's in her socks, and that just ain't right. It wouldn't have been impossible to throw in some gold thread for a lasso, but that didn't happen. Courtesy Craig comes Mego Wonder Woman on an S.S. Kresge Card. Take note that the figure is wearing her red boots. This discounts earlier assertions that the boots came only as a mail order item. I'd like to have a more definitive answer about these red boots, so if you know for sure the lineage and in what circumstances she was issued WITHOUT the boots I'd like to know.
Wonder Woman did come carded By 1976 Mego had decided to create a 12" Wonder Woman line and deleted the 8" figure from their case assortments replacing her with Isis. Isis wasn't known overseas so the carded Wonder Woman was released in limited quantities. If you have one, start laughing maniacally about now.
