MEGO IVANHOE

Mego Ivanhoe is my personal favorite. I think he's a gorgeous figure. GREAT head. Swarthy and handsome, he could have been used for so much. The never produced Sheriff of Nottingham, for one. People say he's perfect for a custom Tony Stark.

Ivan doesn't have a sword, but has his jousting lance instead. Ivanhoe is the only Mego to get his own Jousting Horse Sadly, they were only produced in Europe.

A bit of a mystery to me was the little yellow hook-thing on his right breast. My own theory was that the lance originally was planned to have a hollow end that would fit over the hook to hold the lance in position for jousting. However, I was completly wrong and have since learned it is a lance rest, a standard feature on your better models of knight armor throughout history.

What a killer shield and crest, though.
