Sadly, this double feature was two financial disappointments for Mego, Star Trek: The Motion Picture was highly anticipated but turned out to be not "Kid friendly" enough to sell toys. The Walt Disney film, The Black Hole was very kid friendly but a box office dud when released.

An interesting thing to note about this ad, it features the hard to find Star Trek models and the unreleased Palamino play set from the Black Hole line
