Andorian : Original Accessories and Known Repros
Loose Andorian

belt

Andorian's belt is unique to the character and has been factory reproduced by Doctor Mego and EMCE Toys. Quite well actually, so well that it's pretty impossible to tell the difference. There are no stamped indicators to identify the reproductions on either version. The reproduction looks shiney and new, very glossy. A loose Andorian's belt usually has some wear. Of course if the figure just came off a card, or has been kept mint and the original belt still looks new, then good luck.

Gloves

gloves

Andorian gloves are unique to the character and have been factory reproduced by EMCE Toys. The reproductions are very accurate and you really have to look to spot them visually. The color of the repros is VERY slightly darker and the detail along the fingers is more recessed. The reproductions are slightly smaller in the hand and wrist area making them a little bit more difficult to slide on and off and plastic they are made with is slightly thicker and firmer. The EMCE's are unmarked.

boots

Andorian style boots have been factory reproduced by Doctor Mego, Classic TV Toys and EMCE Toys. Neither the DM or CTV versions quite reproduced the odd color of the original Andorian boots. The original boots are a kind of orangish brown, while these two sets of reproductions are simply brown. Other than color, DM's are very close in texture, although the plastic is a touch thicker. They are marked DM on the bottom. CTVT's are close in thickness, but have a rough texture to them. They are marked CTV on the side. The EMCE versions on the other hand are very accurate in color. Like the gloves, the repros are just SLIGHTLY darker and the plastic used is just a touch thicker and firmer than the originals. These would be near impossible to spot from a photograph and not so easy to identify in person since they are also unmarked. One giveaway is the seamlines on the reproductions are a little more distinct.

vest

Andorian's vest is unique to the character and has been factory reproducted by EMCE Toys. The reproduction is just slightly more bright orange in color, and just a bit overall bigger in size hanging just a little lower both down the arms and under the waist. The reproduction is made of a softer, thicker material, and has a more textured look. You can really tell the difference when looking at the inside. The inside of the original has a mesh material and is very stiff, while the reproduction has a soft and more solid in color looking mesh. The reproduction is unmarked.

suit

Andorian's suit is unique to the character, but very similar to the jumpsuits worn by the Knights line. Both have a silver chainmail look, the main difference being that Andorian's suit chainmail is sewn into a white material, while the knights are sewn into a gray material. This makes the knight suits darker in appearance. Both Doc Mego and CTVT have made factory produced suits similar to Andorian's, but not quite on the mark. Doc Mego's is based on white material, but is VERY transparent. The body is quite visible under the suit. There is a tag sewn into the suit with the DM marker. The CTVT reproduction is actually a reproduction of the gray based knights jumpsuit, so there is a big difference in color. The CTVT suit is unmarked. The latest reproduction Andorian jumper is from EMCE Toys. EMCE's version is the closest to the original that is out there right now. It is based on white material, but it is a softer, less stretchy material so it's a little more baggy than an original suit, especially in the arms. It doesn't have quite the same amout of silver detail, so it's a little less shiney, and the way the silver is sewn into the weave of the material looks more like straight horizontal lines than on the original, which has the silver more in a diamond shape. The EMCE version is unmarked.

headswidth=

Andorian's head has been factory reproduced by Emce Toys. The reproduction has a slightly greener skin tone than the average original, and the shape of the face is slightly different. An original is a little more long, where the repro is a touch more round in shape. The antenna on the repro is thicker, firmer and angle a little more forward. The circles in the center have a thinner edge to them than the originals as well. The white hair paint on the repro is more solid and brighter, where you can almost see the blue of the head under the paint of the original. The paint details on the repro are also slightly sharper. The EMCE head is made of a firmer material so the head is a little harder. It is marked with a 2007 CBS copyright on the back of the neck.
