MEGO MOBILE BATLAB AND JOKERMOBILE

This picture of the Mego Mobile Bat lab was provided by Bob Long (see CUSTOMEGO for his stunning work). It's almost as cool as the Jokermobile, but I'm not real sure about the basket/capture device...

The Mobile Batlab has one of the most beautiful packages around. In an interview with Saul Harrison of DC Comics in the "Amazing World of DC Comics" Magazine, he mentions that DC Comics took it upon themselves to create the packaging for both of these vehicles.

The Jokermobile is big-fun! It's perfectly perfect that the Seventies version of the Jokermobile is a converted VW Microbus! The Boxing glove trap-door is really neat! And the rooftop daisy that you can actually fill with liquid and squirt is an inspired, and inexpensive design bonus! Just don't soak your mint condition Batman with it! Those damn stickers have enough trouble sticking to the fabric as it is!

There is something so uniquely satisfieing about seeing the Riddler driving the Joker Mobile. It seems linked to the way kids played.
