So what is the deal w/ Bak Lu Gons?

...or as I like to call them the Ball E Ball things.

Anyone on this forum who has a little boy might know what I'm talking about. For those of you who don't, these things are little spheres that when thrown down open up into a magnetic little creature. They have accompanying cards and things called Gs which are power I guess. I think this is supposed to be a game of some sort, but most of the time, the kids are just throwing them down, or playing w/ them like animals or action guys. I guess it's the old school in me, but these things don't look like a whole lot of fun. I just don't get it.

What do you think of these things? Do your kids like 'em? Would you have found these interesting when you were little? Do you feel as I do; that this is just a boring little fad toy w/ no real play value?

I had to help a little kid get one down from the shelves while I was looking at the Star Wars stuff in Wal-Mart. Had no idea what they were.

They're pronounced Bakugon (use pleghm) and there is some animated series I've watched the series several times and i have learned nothing.

I was just asked for a Few of these Lastnight... I still really Know Nothing other than Hear-Say , Discussion & Rumor on them.
I hope he forgets, or something,.. I would hate to start collecting another Toy Line, I have far too many going as it is to keep up with.

My 8 year old has some but I honestly don't know much about them.

He showed me how they opened up. The cards have some type of magnet in them and when the balls are placed on the card the ball opens up to reveal some type of monster.

It looks like there is a game that goes along with it but my son seems more interested in watching them open up.

I suspect it is just a passing fad. He seemed interested for a few days but haven't really seen him play with them much lately.

Looks like an enhanced card game along the lines of Pokemon?
