This is likely the result of overstock in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/actionjackson\/images\/adventurerface.jpg\" alt=\"Mego knockoff the adventurer\"><\/p>\n<p>Close up of The Adventurer&#8217;s beefy visage, this headsculpt was used in the UK as the face of <a href=\"http:\/\/tommygunncollector.wetpaint.com\/\"> Tommy Gunn<\/a> and in the US, he was Mego&#8217;s original Fighting Yank!<\/p>\n<p>Below are just a few of the Adventurer sets found, a fishing set (identical to Action Jackson) is also known to exist. One wonders if the new outfits were from a cancelled second wave of Mego Action Jackson outfits. The Action Jackson formula was exempt from this treatment and AHI dubbed their version &#8220;Adventure Man&#8221; a lower cost line of figures that came garbed in a variety of outfits rather than selling them individually.<br \/>\nIn addition to the generic Action Jackson formula, the Adventure Man line took to copying the popular <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plaidstallions.com\/gabriel\/lr.html\">Gabriel Lone Ranger series as well.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!-- ledy SECTION STARTS HERE --><br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\"><\/p>\n<p><!--ANCHOR TAG --><\/p>\n<div class=\"subpad\"><a id=\"bigbill\" name=\"bigbill\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div id=\"subheadbox\">\n<div class=\"subhead\">Big Bill<\/div>\n<div class=\"topbox\"><a href=\"#top\">Return to Top<\/a><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Big Bill remains a bit of a mystery, his plain white box (with the words &#8220;Big Bill&#8221; written on it in bold letters) suggest that he was catalog item. This generic 8&#8243; AJ clone came with a number of accessories such as a rocket launcher, several rifles, changes of clothing and a red helmet that is marked Mego inside (that helmet got around!)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/actionjackson\/images\/bigbill.jpg\" alt=\"Big Bill by who knows\"><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--ANCHOR TAG --><\/p>\n<div class=\"subpad\"><a id=\"Captain Eagle\" name=\"eagle\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div id=\"subheadbox\">\n<div class=\"subhead\">Captain Eagle<\/div>\n<div class=\"topbox\"><a href=\"#top\">Return to Top<\/a><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/megomuseum.com\/aj\/captain_eagle2.jpg\" alt=\" boxed captain Eagle giftset\"><\/p>\n<p>While many of the figures here were created in Hong Kong to sell the Action Jackson tooling, Captain Eagle may be the only figure on this page produced to help sell Action Jackson outfits. In a &#8220;razors and razorblades&#8221; situation like Action Jackson, it&#8217;s very hard to sell razor blades (in this case boxed outfits) when you are all out of the razors (figures) themselves. Thus, Captain Eagle was born, this eight inch wonder was marketed in his own polybag but he is best known for being shrink wrapped to Action Jackson sets and being marketed as AJ himself. Depending on the character, the figure either came on an AHI body (like these Neil sets pictured here) or on a body very similiar to Amigo complete with bendable arms.
