The first five figures in the line are retooled versions of their Comic Action counterparts but now featuring straight legs. Later released figures were completely resculpted and had a body style that was used by Mego for other lines including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/zzzoldfiles\/trek\/mtrek.shtml\">Star Trek: The Motion Picture<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/tv\/gah.shtml\">Greatest American Hero <\/a>and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/tv\/loveboat.shtml\">Love Boat<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A number of new vehicles and figures were created for this line that were not available in the Comic Action Heroes line.<\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Mego Pocket Heroes Batman and Robin\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/images\/phbr.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"350\" align=\"bottom\" \/><br clear=\"all\" \/>Pocket Hero Batman and Robin sometimes came with their bat ropes, other times, they didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p><center><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>Figures included: <\/b>Batman, Robin, Superman, Spiderman, Hulk, Green Goblin, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Captain America, and Lex Luthor, General Zod, and Jor-El in a loose tie-in to the Superman Movie.<\/span><\/center><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">The figures came on three varieties of cards categorized by colour, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/pocket\/packgingred.html\">Red<\/a>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/pocket\/packgingwhite,html\">White<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/pocket\/packgingred\">Blue (Denim) <\/a>.<span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/images\/pocket_heroes.jpg\" alt=\"Newspaper clippings of Mego Pocket Hero ads courtesy of Kolin Erb\" width=\"450\" height=\"257\" align=\"bottom\" \/><br clear=\"all\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Kolin Erb provides us with some very cool clippings from the paper way back when, <b>$1.66?<\/b>I wish&#8230;&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/images\/phsh.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"340\" align=\"bottom\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">This Spiderman is a later version with corrected arms, Hulk is a converted Comic Action Hero.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/images\/pocone.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"432\" height=\"322\" align=\"bottom\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Here is the Mego Marvel line up, Cap , The early version of Spider-man (note the arms are comic action hero arms) and Green Goblin<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Pocket Heroes Captain America, Aquaman and Wonder Woman\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/pocket\/images\/pcapaq.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"319\" align=\"bottom\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Aquaman, Captain America and Wonder Woman are part of the 1980 wave of figures that were completely resculpted for the line.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/pocket\/images\/zodjorlex.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"432\" height=\"274\" align=\"bottom\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Zod, Jor El and Lex Luthor were released only in the first wave and were poor sellers. This probably due in part to their poor sculpts and the fact that children didn&#8217;t recognize their costumes. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/heroes\/pocket\/packagingred\">Red Cards <\/a>also didn&#8217;t feature their names<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Many foreign countries produced knockoffs of the pocket heroes\" src=\"http:\/\/www.megomuseum.com\/megolibrary\/kno4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Pocket Heroes even got knock offs! These recent discoveries from Argentina show that the Pocket Super Heroes were popular around the world.
