Morris Kotzer, the owner of Parkdale Novelty, was the Canadian distributor of Mego toys (right, in a picture from 2011). In 1977, wanting to give greater value to the consumers  than the 8\u201d World’s Greatest Superheroes action figures offered, he personally funded the production of the 12\u201d Super Heroes.<\/p>\n

The original run of Superman, Batman, Robin and Spider-Man were exclusive to Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy and France.<\/p>\n

By 1979, Mego embraced the 12\u201d format, bulking up the design of the bodies, improving the head sculpts and adding features such as Magnetic hands and feet, Fly Away Action and Web Spinning for Spider-man<\/p>\n
