Megohead of the Month – September 2011

Welcome once again to the Mego Museum’s Megohead of the Month, where we feature a Museum member and their collection.

Museum Handle: MLoudin

Real Name: Mark Loudin

Do you have a website or a blog? Nope

Where do you hail from? I was born in Kent, Ohio. I now live in Athens, Ohio

How did you find the Mego Museum? I first found the museum years ago while doing a web search for Mego figures.

What inspired you to join the forum? It actually took me a while to join in. I lurked and read a bunch of the posts, and after a few years I started to post in the forums.

What is your favorite Mego line? WGSH followed closely by Star Trek.

Happiest Mego Memory? When my wife Jill and I were dating, we were at a flea market and she went crazy over a Mego Star Trek bridge playset, she had one growing up, along with all the Star Trek figures. I knew right then we were meant to be.

What is the one thing you’re hunting for? Custom Mego Avengers figures… Hawkeye, Vision, Wonderman ect… and I’m always in search of loose Tomland space dudes.

What is one item in your collection your most proud of? AHI Frankenstein figure. I bought him with birthday money when I was 9 or 10. My mother wouldn’t buy him for me as a present because she thought he was too ugly.

Any other hobbies, collections? We go to a ton of Antique Malls, Flea Markets and Estate sales, I collect tons of things from refrigerator magnets to Mold-A-Rama figures.

Any words of wisdom for beginning collectors? Ask tons of questions… Go through the threads on the museum! They are full of incredible information. Go to the Mego Meet! No better place on earth to find COOL stuff!!!

Many thanks to Mark for sharing with us this month! See you in 30 with another Mego Museum Member Collector Profile!
