Rejected Mego Superman Card Artwork
It is a great pleasure to showcase Mego’s original card designs for the DC Comics Superheroes released in 2020.
Behind the scenes, Mego was trying to create something very bright and colourful that would feel like a successor to their 1970s work.
Unfortunately, Mego used a style guide not approved for mass retailers like Wal-Mart and the approach had to be regrettably changed. That was absolutely true because I read that style guide cover to cover (it was COVID, and I was starved for such things.)
