WW2 hits United States
Johnny Action was the US name for their WW2 line and it was one
of the few instances where Mego actually owned up to the line.
Mego was so concearned with looking like a GI Joe knockoff that
this beautiful line was released into the United States with little
to no fanfare. It isn't even featured in any Mego Catalogs and
features the Lion Rock Logo. Johnny Action was unique in that
it was featured in both boxes and cards, the boxes are similiar
to the European packages and have been found in Australia.
The cards are truly innovative marketing as the figures bubble
is the shape of a bomb, alot of thought went into the presentation
of this line that would be missing from the countless knockoffs
that later appeared. The US Sea Bee and the British Tanker were
exclusive to the Johnny Action and the 1981 release
Combat Man. They are among the hardest figures to find The
Australian boxes difference in that they are similar to the French
Box with that orange sunburst,Also they green where as the USA
releases are brown
