1974: Men of Action and Adventure

Mego Action Jackson Adventure Set
Mego Action Jackson Adventure Set

1974 would see the return of Mego’s original 8 inch figure, Action Jackson. After his original explosion onto the scene in 1973, he would be overshadowed by the success of the many licensed products that the creation of his interchangable body (called a “Happy Accident” by former Mego VP Neal Kublan) allowed.

New additions would include a Race Car and ten lower cost outfits, the Adventure set picture aboved was a bundling of various items that sadly did not see productiom.

Also included in the Catalog for what would be his final year was Fighting Yank, Mego’s original action figure would be discontinued this year after a long relationship with the company.

Look for a Mego Museum Fighting Yank Gallery in the coming months. For now please check out the 1974 Catalog newly refurbished Action Jackson and Fighting Yank Sections.
