The folks at Figures Toy Co. have production samples in hand and expect to meet the posted delivery dates for the upcoming Batman Retro Series 1. It would be great to examine these up close, but for now pictures will work. There are some subtle and not-so-subtle design differences between these and their Mego forefathers that should make them easy to distinguish from the originals. The Joker and Riddler lean to the subtle side, as the most obvious tells will be the ‘grain/texture’ of the fabric and the plastic used for the hands. Batman and Robin, however, feature silkscreened emblems. Batman also includes a paper emblem, and in general the coloring on the various blue accessories appears both darker and more consistent. Robin does not include a paper emblem sticker, but also features a good color match across all the green elements of the costumes.
As the line continues, watch for more updates from FTC including prototypes and production samples.
