The Mego Eagle Force Toy fair Launch from 1981
Mego always knew how to make a first impression at Toy Fair, whether it was the gala ball for the launch of the 1975 Wizard of Oz line or the 1976 concert featuring Sonny & Cher, the company knew how to make an entrance.
The launch of Eagle Force was no exception, despite Mego being in financial turmoil, the company created a action-packed, star- studded spectacle meant to put the name "Eagle Force" into the minds of buyers. Thanks to the generosity of Mary Ann Baron, we have her excellent photographs of this amazing piece of Mego History. Click on any of the photographs for an enhanced view. The Stars of this event were none other than Cathie Lee Crosby (host of then hit series "That's Incredible!") and veteran TV actor Darren McGavin ("Kolchak: The Night Stalker"). McGavin adorned in the Eagle Force gold uniform read the Eagle Force proclaimation.
